A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR KLING
REMEMBERING 9/11
Today marks 19 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001 when our nation took a collective gasp as we watched the attack on the United States unfold. We vowed to never forget. This morning, the Nampa Fire and Police Departments held a short but solemn ceremony to honor those who risked their lives to save countless others on that horrific day.

Following the Patriot Day ceremony, I attended another event within our community which elevated the importance of our first responders - our everyday heroes who continue protecting and serving our community. Please allow me to share my sincere appreciation to all of our first responders for their selfless efforts and devotion to the residents of Nampa.
REMAINING VIGILANT
This week, Southwest District Health announced Canyon County is moving our alert level to orange (an improvement from red), as our daily incidence rate of COVID-19 cases continues to decline. While the improvement in recent weeks is a reflection of the community efforts (wearing facial coverings, keeping distance, limiting gatherings, etc.) ….we need to continue to stay diligent.

I would like to appeal to our community to remain vigilant and to keep doing all we can to slow the spread. As kids go back to school, get on buses and some sports resume, there is considerable opportunity for increased spread. Let’s all stay diligent to keep our numbers down. It would be easy to let up on doing all the positive things we've been doing, but now is the time to press on toward our goal of returning to normal.

Thank you to everyone who remains vigilant during this time.
The U.S. Census only happens once every 10 years and informs how BILLIONS of federal funding is allocated for things which benefits our community such as school lunch programs, Medicaid, highway construction, hospitals and education.

EVERY PERSON COUNTS!
Don't miss out on the count - please take the census today at my2020census.gov.
