Regional May 2018
Spend your summer with Girl Scouts!
Sign up for summer adventures with Girl Scouts!

As the weather warms and the sun comes out more, there is a phrase that also warms my heart, "Let's go outside!".  In today's age though, this is sometimes placed on the back burner to smartphones, online games, reality shows and more. It is important
though for girls to make the strong connection to the outdoors and nature!

Getting outside and exploring nature has benefits that can contribute to girls' challenge-seeking and problem-solving skills and make girls more likely to connect with and care for the environment. When girls participate in organized outdoor activities, they can grow their leadership skills and make more friends.

That is why we have worked to develop an amazing summer full of outdoor opportunities!  Girls can learn map and compass skills, participate in a high ropes course or rock climbing, watch a movie in the park, cheer on the Idaho Falls Chukars, swim nights and so much more! Many troops "take a break" for the summer, but don't worry! All of these activities do not need to be done as a troop.

What is more exciting than our Girl Scouts having these opportunities? Sharing them with a friend and this year Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) is making that easier!  Girls who haven't been a Girl Scout can sign up for the remainder of this year, enjoying all the summer activities, and all of next year for one discounted price! Girls do not have to be part of a troop to participate!  So, encourage your daughter to share with her friends all the fun opportunities to explore together by joining today!

Yours in Girl Scouting,
Jeannie Pattan
