5th Sunday Special Offering for the United Methodist Children's Home

Sermon: Rev. Jim Berlau
Awakening Our Wonder:
"Adding Kindness, Subtracting Excuses"

Scripture: Micah 6:1-8

The prophet Micah offered up a vision for life lived from a different perspective. Rather than see doing good as "obligatory sacrifice," he said that when we live our lives with a love for kindness for all God's people, we are fulfilling God's desire to spread justice and love throughout the land. What if we lived each day on the lookout for ways to make someone's day through a kind and unexpected gesture? It might just make our day as well!
Peace New Member Class - April 29
If you are looking for a church home, then we invite you to join our new member class! For those coming from different denominations or other faith backgrounds, this class provides a supportive setting in which to learn more about Peace Church, United Methodism and what church membership means. There is no obligation to join Peace just because you take the class.

Join us on Sunday, April 29th   from 12:15-12:45 p.m. for an introductory session. We will provide you with a copy of A Disciple's Path: Deepening Your Relationship with Christ and the Church. This will serve as your study guide for your journey into a deeper relationship with Christ. Should you have any questions, or wish to join the class, please contact Rev. LeeAnn Inman 407-462-7374 or [email protected] .
Free Joy Workshop - May 12
As humans, we often use the term "joy" as a synonym for happiness. But as a "fruit" of the Spirit, (Galatians 5: 22-24) true Joy is awakened in us as we grow in the image of our Lord Jesus. In his experiential workshop "Awakening the Joy Within", Tom Acey presents a practical guide to direct us in our daily lives to live joyfully. An experienced facilitator and workshop creator, Tom has presented the Joy Workshop here at Peace several times over the past few years. He will be presenting another workshop on Saturday, May 12 th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Whether you are a new participant or one who has experienced the workshop the past, come and discover a transformation of your mind that the Apostle Paul refers to in Romans 12:2. Please sign up on the table in the back of the sanctuary. Questions? 407-791-3424 or email  [email protected] .

There is no cure yet, but with continued funding for research, hope is on the horizon! If you'd like to help sponsor our team-you may donate via cash or check at church (make checks out to Peace UMC with "Team Peace" on the memo line) or follow this link.  Contact the Church Office for more information. Thank you!

Volunteer Opportunity at John Young Elementary School
On Friday, May 18th from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. volunteers are needed for  John Young Elementary school's (affectionally called JYE) bi-annual Fun Run. What's the Fun Run you may ask?  It's a school and community event where students, families and local community members sign up for a short run around the school to raise funds for JYE's PTA.  This event is well attended and is one of the students' favorites!  It's carnival style with food, games and prizes!  JYE needs volunteers to help run the concession stands, games, and you can even offer any special "talents" you may have...face painting for example.   We hope you can join us and start building a deeper relationship with JYE - which was one of the first schools in this area!  Sign up on the table in the back of the sanctuary.
