Episcopal Vo-Tech

After a successful first venture at last year’s Convention, we are pleased to bring back this new program designed to create and enhance supportive networks of individuals in congregations that work on specific roles. It will run during Convention itself, in the workshop spaces while Convention is in session in the main ballroom on Saturday morning, February 2.

The Vo-Tech sessions being offered this year are for:

  • Property Managers and Buildings & Grounds members
  • Treasurers and Finance Committee members
  • Church Musicians
  • Food Pantry Ministries (those who have or are interested in supporting or starting one)
  • Sunday School Teachers

Convention 2019
The 145th Annual Diocesan Convention will be held Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Hilton Meadowlands in East Rutherford.
Pre-Convention meetings

Three traditional Pre-Convention Meetings will be held for deputies this month. These in-person meetings will be supplemented by online presentations and reports which deputies can access at their convenience. Included will be an online budget presentation with a mechanism for asking questions, as well as any other necessary presentations, with all printed materials available for download from the diocesan website. Instructions for accessing the online presentations and reports will be announced at a later date.

While attendance by deputies is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged, as these forums are extremely helpful in preparing for the actual Convention. Pre-Convention packets were mailed last week.

The February issue of Leadership News published on Wednesday, Jan. 30 will be a special issue with a preview of the 145th Annual Diocesan Convention, and will be sent to all e-news subscribers.
The VOICE Online is published on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays September through May,
and on the 3rd Wednesdays only in June, July and August.
The deadline to submit items for consideration is one week prior to publication.
