2017 OC Hate Crime Report Released

Orange County experienced 56 reported hate crimes and 94 hate incidents in 2017. This is a continuation of year-by-year increases since 2015, when Orange County experienced 44 hate crimes and 43 hate incidents. Orange County's increase in reported hate crime numbers parallel a national increase in reported hate groups. 

Muslims faced the highest number of hate crimes - 13% - followed by Jewish people (9%). Schools, sadly, were the most common locations for hate incidents in the community (23%),

Human Relations Ambassadors Program (HRAP) Kicks Off!
OC Human Relations Board Chair, Ken Inouye, speaks to students and parents at the September 19 Human Relations Ambassadors Program (HRAP) kickoff. HRAP is a 9 month internship program that will provide advanced human relations training and education to 28 BRIDGES student leaders. 
3rd Annual Barrio Run A Great Success!
 
In late summer, OC Human Relations, along with community members, organized the 3rd Annual Barrio Run in Anaheim's ABC Neighborhood
AUHSD Parent Leadership Conference Workshop


On August 31 an OC Human Relations' cross-program team facilitated conflict management and restorative practices workshops for over 200 AUHSD parents.
