RSVP by
May 2 to attend bishop candidate "walkabouts"
FRI, MAY 4; SAT, MAY 5; SUN, MAY 6
Who is called to serve as our next Bishop? You are part of that decision.
The Search Nominating Committee completed its commission and presented the diocese with a slate of Candidates to be our next Bishop. Find their bios and other information on the
Bishops Search page in the right sidebar under "Candidates."
The Transition Committee has organized several "Walkabouts" designed for you to meet and ask questions of the Candidates. Find dates and locations on the
Bishops Search page in the right sidebar under "Upcoming Events."
We invite you to participate! Whether a Deputy to the Electing Convention or not, you are invited to come to a Walkabout to get to know the Candidates. Each walkabout will begin with a plenary session and then break into smaller groups for more in-depth discussion.
Think about what is going on in your parish; what are the major issues in the diocese; what is happening in the country or in the world - how will the candidates respond to them? How will they interact with you? Why do they feel called to lead the Diocese of Newark at this particular time? There is only one way to find out! Be a part of the process: make your voice and your concerns heard; share your hopes and dreams for the future. Find out how God is working among us now, and where God might be leading us next.
The Walkabouts are free, but we ask you to
RSVP online by
5 PM next Wednesday, May 2 so we can accommodate you better. You can also use the above link to submit a question for the candidates.
