The District offers excellent opportunities for television and film production. In addition to location permitting, the District offers a competitive Film, Television and Entertainment Rebate incentive as well as offering services that assists filmmakers with a wide range of media production support. The DC Entertainment Office continues to market the District as great locale for media production.
DC is also home to an amazing network of professional associations that support film and video producers. Organizations like DC Film Alliance, TIVA-DC and Women In Film & Video continue to provide residents with access to networking opportunities, media education, training and job opportunities. The DC Entertainment Office encourages District filmmakers to explore some of the production resources that the city offers.
This month, Warner Bros Television & DC Entertainment brought an epic event to the nation's capital entitled "DC in D.C." The Martin Luther King Jr. weekend event featured the premiere of the CW network's "Black Lightning" - based on the first African-American DC Comics Super Hero to have his own stand-alone comic title.
From filming indie docs and feature films to the premiere screening of a network television series, the District continues to be ideal for production. For more information about how the the District government supports local entertainment industry, visit www.entertainment.dc/film.
