Weekly Letter from Deacon Rick Wagner
Let me begin by asking, “Why are we having a Walk-a-thon tomorrow?” I know Principal Hansen has offered several reasons: a break from the academic routine, building school spirit, providing financial support for student activities and clubs, and to meet the goal of getting Mr. Mayer to sleep on the roof. Those are all true, practical explanations for why we are having Walk-a-thon.

New International Students joining Bishop Chatard
Bishop Chatard is welcoming new international students for the 2018-2019 school year. David, an aspiring engineer, will be a sophomore in the Fall, and is transferring to BCHS from Seton Catholic in Richmond, Indiana. He likes baseball and basketball, he plays piano and likes pets, especially dogs. Tony is transferring in as a junior from Louisiana. He describes himself as an optimist, he loves languages, and he hopes to be a biologist. He likes football, basketball and tennis, and also loves dogs and little kids. Both of these young men are from China.

The entire Bishop Chatard community benefits from the cultural diversity of enrolling international students, which wouldn't be possible without our wonderful host families. Host families provide a bed, meals, and loving support, and receive monthly funds to meet the needs of the student. The student is responsible for all tuition and school-related expenses.

This culturally enriching program yields life-long friendships and countless other benefits. We ask that you prayerfully consider opening your home to this wonderful opportunity! For more details about becoming a host family, please contact Catherine Welch at  cwelch@bishopchatard.org  or 317-251-1451 ext 2257.
