If you haven't ordered a yearbook and want one, you need to do it soon! The price increases to $40 beginning Feb. 1! Also, if you are interested in personal or business ad space, the deadline to purchase is Fri., Feb. 15 or sooner if space sells out. Ad space sold out last year! Congratulations to the following advisory classes for their generous participation in the toy drive and veterans' home drive before the holidays: Mrs. Dunsworth's advisory, Mrs. Wendt's advisory, and Mrs. Dean's advisory. Everyone who participated really embodied Woodland's generous spirit!

2019 Woodland Track and Field parent meeting will be held Tues., Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Woodland cafeteria. All parents with students on the track team need to attend. Please contact Coach Large at [email protected] if you have questions.

Feb. 5: Bulldog Bash field trip to FHS from 8:45-11:45

Feb. 5: FHS staff will be at Woodland after lunch to help students select courses

-rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox

Feb. 7: Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)

Feb. 27: CAP conferences for 9th-12th grades, FHS Commons from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Feb. 28: Current 6th graders field trip to tour Woodland 9:00-11:00

Feb. 28: Parent Info CAP night

Attendance Policy Changes

In accordance with district policy, the following changes will occur in attendance documentation starting January 2019. For each semester, every student is allowed 5 Parent Contacts (PC) without documentation of any kind. All absences after the 5th PC will be recorded as an Unexcused Absence (U) unless the absence falls into a category listed in District Policy For any absence, please provide documentation whenever possible as we are working to support you and your student.

Free Tutoring Available

Woodland is offering free tutoring Mondays and Thursdays before school from 7:30-8:15 and after school from 3:45-4:30.

While transportation will not be provided, snacks will be available and free admission to HOME basketball games on dates that tutoring is available.

Choir will Sing National Anthem at Upcoming Razorback Game

Woodland Choir students will sing the national anthem Tues., Jan. 29 before the Arkansas Razorbacks take on the Georgia Bulldogs at 6 p.m. Student tickets will be purchased together by the Woodland Choir. Students will need to bring $15 to pay for their ticket and t-shirt NO LATER THAN FRI., JAN. 11. Students will be expected to be at Bud Walton Arena no later than 5 p.m. and will be free to leave with their guardians at any point after the performance. Since this is an optional event, no transportation is provided.

Big Win at the Trinity Tournament

Congratulations to the Cowgirls and Cowboys 8th grade teams for winning the Trinity Classic Tournament over the holidays. Making the All-Tournament team for the girls was Lauren Magre, Wynter Beck, and Romani Thurman and for the boys was Bo Nolan and Hunter Yuracheck.

Come out this week and watch all four of our basketball teams play Thursday night at home against Southwest.
