Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA)
Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA)
To Offer Free Admission To Federal Employees During Government Shutdown
Santa Fe, NM - January 10, 2019.

With the partial shutdown of the US Government entering its third week, the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts is offering Free Admission to Government Employees who present their photo ID or badge for the duration of the shutdown. One guest per employee will also be admitted free.

According to Yahoo! Finance, New Mexico is one of the areas of the country most impacted by the current shutdown. This is a small way for MoCNA to show our support for the people affected.

The mission of the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts is to advance contemporary Native art through exhibitions, collections, public programs, and scholarship. MoCNA's outreach through local and national collaborations allows us to continue to present the most progressive Native arts and public programming. MoCNA's exhibitions and programs continue the narrative of contemporary Native arts and cultures.

IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts Director Patsy Phillips (Cherokee Nation) commented, " The current federal government shut-down is a difficult time for our nation. I can't imagine the hardship these workers are going through. Following the lead of Meow Wolf, MoCNA is pleased to offer  federal employees who present their photo ID or badge, free admission to the museum, and we will add that they may also bring along one guest. We wish to give these dedicated employees a little reprieve from their day-to-day lives as they wait out the re-opening of the government."

As reported earlier this week, Meow Wolf will also be offering free admission for federal employees during the shutdown.
