Commercial projects can now log in by email

We're happy to announce we can now accept commercial and multifamily building plans by email! We began our transition to electronic plan review in late 2017 for single-family homes and duplexes, and then added fire permits in early 2018. With this latest addition of commercial/multifamily projects, we can now accept by email any plan that needs to be logged in for review.

When you apply by email, the entire review process will be conducted online...from log in and resubmittals to payment and permit issuance.
View a quick recap here of all permit types that can be applied for online, and easy instructions for each: Electronic submittal instructions.

We'll miss seeing you at the permit counter!
March 5-9: Development Services staff attend the 33rd Annual Colorado Educational Institute
Virtually all of our plan reviewers, log in team, and construction inspectors are attending classes at the 33rd Annual Colorado Educational Institute this week. Denver's plan reviewers and inspectors--who are tasked to be experts in code-compliant construction--are learning from some of the best ICC code instructors in the country.

As much as we can, we've staggered schedules in order to minimize the impact on customers, but you may notice fewer staff at the permit counter or fewer inspectors available during the day this week.

"Attending ICC code classes every year helps us understand how new codes are developed and gives us insight on the latest and upcoming code changes," says Eric Browning, P.E., Architectural/Structural Plan Review Supervisor. "We can get clarity on items that may be ambiguous in current codes, and we have the opportunity for a gut-check to make sure we are applying codes the way they were intended." The classes will also shed light on how national and international standards can work on our local level.
