WIF Board Slate Announced for 2018 - 2019!

We are excited to nominate a group of dynamic and talented women to serve on the Board of Directors and in other leadership roles next year. The Board of Directors has approved the Nominating Committee's recommendations and we will ask the membership to vote at the Annual Meeting in May. Read more about our 2018-2019 Board here.
 
We are delighted to confirm Arrington Mixon will be our 2018-2019 Board Chair and to nominate Lisa Miller as Incoming Board Chair. We also are pleased to nominate Mattye Silverman to continue to serve as Chair of our Board of Advisors.

Have you ever wondered about our impact in the community? Here is just one example:

From WFAE -  "The Reach program was started 9 years ago with a $78,000 grant from the Women's Impact Fund. It's a three-year scholarship for young students who show natural ability, but do not have the money to pay for dance classes. It operates out of five community centers in Charlotte."

  • Not one, but two WIF Members have been recognized among the Charlotte Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Winners. Jhaymee Heinlein of Atrium Health and Kristina Cruise of Promising Pages. The CBJ's 40 Under 40 awards program honors 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are making major strides in their careers and having a positive impact on their communities. 
  • Liana Humphrey (co-chair of the WIF Arts & Culture Grants team) is the new chief marketing officer of Crisis Assistance Ministry. The ministry helps families move from crisis to stability through economic empowerment and civic engagement.
  • Arrington Mixon (incoming WIF board chair) is being honored as a community champion by the Urban League of Central Carolinas at its annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Gala. Arrington is being recognized for making a positive impact on the community and helping to create new opportunities for underserved and underemployed individuals.
  • Welcome to the world, Charles Shepard (Shep) Pittman, born to WIF member Kirsten Pittman on March 22nd. Kirsten was working on WIF communications right up to the day Shep made his appearance. Congratulations, Kirsten.
