Dear Old Donation,
It's Wednesday! And we are back in the swing of things. The weather is beautiful, the offices are open, and we're settling into business as usual in 2019.
However, we are starting off a little bit different this year, and holding our monthly Vestry Commission Meeting night
tonight instead of on the first Wednesday of the month. A one-time-only thing, I assure you! So, come on out tonight at 6:00 for Holy Eucharist, 6:30 for dinner, and 7:00 for meetings.
This weekend, Feed My Sheep will meet on Saturday for meal prep, and on Sunday will head out to Norfolk to feed those most in need. We are always happy to have more people come and help, so please contact Bill or Melissa Waide if you're interested.
On Sunday, I'll be preaching at 8:00 and 10:30, and Bob will be in the Gathering and at 5:00. Please note that
next Sunday, January 20 will be our first ever Chili Cookoff, from 3-5pm. We have a number of people signed up to compete, but can always use more. So, dig through your recipe box for the best chili one you can find, gather some friends, and start cooking! The winner of our competition will go on to compete with the other Virginia Beach parishes, at a convocation-wide cookoff in February.
And for our youth, January 20 will be our next off-campus event! Have some chili first, then head out with the group to the Escape Room. Make sure to get it on your calendars now!
And now, have a wonderful Wednesday and I will see you soon.

This Shabbat service will explore Dr. King's teachings and legacy through worship, words and special music. Social Justice Strategist Susan Feit will be the guest speaker.
Feit will share details of the historic relationship between Jews and African-Americans. Following in the footsteps of the trailblazing friendship of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and MLK Jr., this program will focus on what a Black-Jewish solidarity movement looks like in the age of rising hate crimes and persistent discrimination and what can be done to counter racial injustice.
