COORDINATOR UPDATE
VW Settlement Update- Request for Information from the FL Department of Environmental Protection
DEP is seeking responses from public and private entities that own and operate vehicles "to assist in determining the range and types of diesel emission reduction and mitigation projects that potentially exist in the state to help inform Florida's draft Beneficiary Mitigation Plan under the prospective Volkswagen Mitigation Trust Fund." Responses are due June 23rd. The DEP contact for questions and RFI submittals is Fran Spivey (

. I have summarized each of the RFIs with the links and process in the following table:
Medium and Heavy Duty Trucks:
Class 4-8 local freight, port drayage, and highway trucks*
Response must be submitted via e-mail as an excel file located on the
DEP website

School, Shuttle, & Transit Buses:
Class 4-8 school, shuttle, or transit buses*.
Response must be submitted via e-mail as an excel file located on the
DEP website

|
Airport and Non-Road Equipment:
Tier 0-2 diesel airport ground support equipment, forklifts, reach stackers, side loaders, top loaders, and other port cargo handling equipment*.

Ports:
Shorepower & Marine Diesel: unregulated to tier 2 marine diesel engines, Ocean Going Vessel Shorepower.

Locomotives:
Unregulated pre-tier 4 Switcher, Unregulated through tier 2 Line Haul and Switcher, and Tier 2 and higher Line Haul Locomotives*

Charging Stations:
Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Chargers in public places, workplaces, and multi-unit dwelling.

ICYMI- VW's Electrify America has chosen Miami as one of the cities in the first cycle of ZEV infrastructure, education, and access.
The National ZEV Investment Plan, which was approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in early April, describes the $300 million in investments that will be made over the first 30-month cycle. The National ZEV Investment Plan: Cycle 1
