A graduate of the University of Michigan, where he studied with Professor Geri Allen for five years. Along with Professor Allen, he counts among his professors and mentors Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker, Tad Weed, Rick Roe, Bob Hurst and Marion Hayden as well as other Detroit Masters.
