Dear Alumni,
As we welcome a new year and all the promise it offers, we are pleased to report that two critical spaces have re-opened since the boys returned to school on Monday.
The
Landis Assembly Hall
will allow orchestral and choral rehearsals as well as school performances to return to their original locations. We will also be able to resume our weekly Community Meetings. All of these activities had to be relocated or temporarily suspended while the Assembly Hall was renovated to underpin the south building foundations in preparation for our future Athletics Center. We are also excited to be able to stage a spring Gilbert & Sullivan show once again. This year boys in Grades 5-9 will participate in performances of
Iolanthe
on March 12 and 13.
Our new and enlarged
Dining Room
also opened on Monday. For all Alumni who enjoyed classroom lunches during previous construction projects, you will understand the boys’ excitement to eat lunch in the Dining Room once again. This space will also provide a much-needed gathering space for the many parent and community meetings that take place over the course of the school year.
The completion of the Assembly Hall and Dining Room represents the conclusion of the first phase in our multi-year campus expansion and enhancement. Phase Two work continues on the townhouse building and the new North Gym. We expect that phase two will be completed in Fall 2019 when our new science/engineering labs, visual arts spaces, expanded Library/Tech Commons, greenhouse and performing arts studio will be available for student and faculty use.
