This week I found a booklet in my mailbox. On the bottom of the page was the quote: “A Constant Flow of Grace.” The quote was referring to the cover story. After reading the cover story, I learned it was about the Holy Spirit and how the Spirit reveals itself to us.
Within the story was this reflection. “In the movie
The Wizard of Oz
, Dorothy discovers, after a long and harrowing journey, that she has had the power to go home all the time. She didn’t need to travel the Yellow Brick Road or face the Wicked Witch of the West. Everything she needed was in her ruby slippers. She just had to click her heels three times, and she would be right back in Kansas.” The author states that this story parallels the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Spirit lives within us and is always ready to help us.
Aren’t we all a little bit like Dorothy, living our life, challenge after challenge? When in fact, all we have to do is look within and know that through the Holy Spirit, God is sharing Grace with us, showing us how to live our lives through His constant flow of Grace.
In Christ,
Cheri Gioe

May Crowning School Mass - May 3
Thursday, May 3rd, we will have our School
May Crowning
during Mass at 8:15 am in MBS Church. Each year an 8
th
grader is selected to crown the statue of Blessed Mother. To mark this special occasion, we ask
all of our students
to
bring some flowers
to adorn our Marian Shrine
(
except the 2nd Graders who will be in the Crowning Procession—a separate letter was sent home to all 2nd grade families on Tuesday, April 24th
)
. Students may bring a single flower or a small bunch of flowers to place at Mary’s feet. The flowers will be collected at the opening of the service and placed at the Shrine.
This Mass will also have a special blessing for our 8th Grade class.
All families are reminded that MAY is the MONTH OF MARY, and is a wonderful time for
praying the Rosary
. Mary has the important role in our history as the God-Bearer, and deserves special honor for her role in our salvation.
Come, bring flowers for our Blessed Mother, and join us for our annual
May Crowning at 8:15 am on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

Field Trip Reminder:
Parents,
Please remember that to participate in SCHOOL field trips, parents MUST have done Child Protection mandates for Schools which includes:
- a finger print background check done at the State Police
Parish mandates for child protection are different and if you went through the process for scouting, PARISH athletics, etc. this process does not meet what is legislated for Schools.
If you have been background checked and finger printed for MBS School, then you should meet the mandates required.
Please email the Office of Child Protection at
kbyrne@mbsbr.org
if you have questions.
