Recommended budget increase for the New Mexico Tourism Department
With revenues up for the state of New Mexico, elected officials have the opportunity to boost our economy and New Mexico communities by reinvesting in New Mexico tourism. Governor Susana Martinez recently recommended a $3.5 million increase for the Tourism Department in her Executive Budget.
The spending increase is imperative for boosting economies across New Mexico. Travel and tourism is a vital driving force for New Mexico communities. Recent investment from the New Mexico Tourism Department has provided New Mexico communities with the opportunity to bring in vital out-of-state dollars to build business and add jobs.
