The last two months of 2018 were bountiful in ministry opportunities. With winter sports in full swing, our area coaches have a large amount of time commitments on their hands. Please see below the instances where God has stepped in and prayerfully / hopefully impacted our area coaches and athletes through the ministry of FCA.
H
oliday Hoops
FCA partnered with North Central Missouri College during their 15 day, 77 game Holiday Hoops event at the college from December 14-31. Our FCA coaches table, shown above, was filled with resources where the coaches could select items for free. What a great setting to minister "To and Through the Coach" with over 155 coaches attending. Resources the coaches took home during the event were: 47 coaches Bibles, 52 FCA athletes and team Bibles, 29 FCA shirts, 61 devotion books written by John Wooden, Jon Gordon, and others, plus other items like FCA cinch bags and 3 Dimensional Coach brochures. FCA Staff were blessed to lead 7 pre-game team chapel and devotion sessions to share God's word and encourage the athletes and coaches prior to the game. Thanks to Steve Maxey, Holiday Hoops Director and NCMC for this super partnership to bless the coaches.
Team Dynamics
Teams are always striving to get better. Teambuilding activities, on and off the court, introduce scenarios that are applicable in all aspects of life. Todd Mathew, North MO FCA Staff person, is shown here while doing a teambuilding session with the Kirksville HS girls basketball team. Later, the team pieced together a puzzle while blindfolded and subsequently discussed the importance of communication, patience, and perseverance on their team, in the classrooom, in their families, and with friends.
