The Studio - in the centre of the header above - is in an old barn on my property, and the renovation project has been a delight for several years. It's a lovely large bright loft with deck overlooking fields and garden. Many visitors to my website comment on how idyllic it looks. And it is! And now I have the chance to share it.  

About 45 minutes from downtown Ottawa and all that the Nation's Capital has to offer, we're close to the vibrant village of Wakefield, QC., with it's restaurants, boutiques, ski hills, and x-c trails.

 The main room is spacious and bright, with large south facing windows under your own piece of sky, complete with swallows on the wing. In front is an enormous sideboard - perfect for laying out the chapters of your novel, or for painting. This is a studio, after all!  

There are two beds: a single in a cozy corner,  and a very comfortable pull-out queen sofabed.  

TV, sattelite, VCR and DVD equipment is hidden in a cupboard, and there is wireless internet.  

A spacious closet provides room for all your clothing.  

  The door at the end of the room leads to the deck - a popular spot for suncatching, or relaxing in the shade of the umbrella. If it gets too hot outside you can enjoy air-conditioning inside. 

There is a full bathroom looking out on the woods, but you need only pull the curtain to return to civilization.  

The kitchenette is equipped with stovetop,  toaster oven, fridge, toaster, kettle. Anything you are missing you can ask for! The kitchen comes equipped with fresh staples, from locally made granola to marmite.  

Guests are welcome to walk or ski in most of the fields, and we'll make it clear where you can go. My dog Phoebe is sticking her head in the door - feel like a walk? A good swimming hole is just around the corner, and in the winter there is wonderful x-country skiing locally and in the Gatineau park.
