|
The LGBT RC is accepting submissions for a compilation book to be published for the RC library! Selected submissions will be included in a book that will be published for the LGBT RC Library. Submissions can be on any topic and depict any subject. You might consider some of the following themes: Activism, Community, Pride, Leadership, Representation, Queer Expression, Spirituality, Diversity, Remembrance, The Future for LGBT+ People, LGBT+ College Community. Up to 5 submissions per person will be considered. For further inquiries, please contact

Come learn about gender expression and the accessibility to the means of expression. After the program there will be a queer/trans clothing swap where people are encouraged to donate clothes or other products and take stuff that aligns with their gender expression. Things to think about donating include: clothes, makeup, deodorant, binders, jewelry/accessories, hair products, cologne/perfume, shoes, etc. This is an open space for anyone to attend and donate, however we ask that only folks in the LGBTQIA+ community receive the donated items. All leftover donated items will be given to a local trans/queer clothing swap. *You do not need to donate in order to receive, but donating is highly encouraged if you can*

Queer Dance Pt 2: Gay the 4th Be With You

Another queer dance is happening in Muir! This time the theme is Gay the 4th Be With You: Space Realness Eleganza Extravaganza! The dance will be held on May 4th on the 11th floor of Tioga in Muir! The dance is a closed space for LGBTQIA+ identifying folks, so come hang out for a fun time.
Tickets (which are FREE) are required for entry and can be picked up from the Muir Residential Life office or at the front desk of the LGBTRC starting Monday, April 23rd.

The 11th Annual Queer and Asian Conference will be taking place at UC Berkeley this year! The theme this year is "Limitless," which reflects upon our identities and boundless potential, and how we can push past boundaries to heal and empower our communities. The conference brings queer Asians and allies from across the nation to participate in engaging workshops, keynote speeches by prominent activists, performers, scholars, performances from our talented community and so much more. Coming Out Group Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00PM Small Meeting Room | Women's Center The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender Identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, family/cultural issues, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. JOIN THE CONVERSATION: The sites, practices, and mechanisms most commonly associated with state violence provide a powerful lens for analyzing intersectionality across identities marked by ability, race, ethnicity, gender, class, age and other groups who experience heightened levels of vulnerability. This one-day symposium features presentations and performances by artists, scholars, community advocates and representatives of social service organizations to foster dialog around concerns with forms of vulnerability to violence that are generated, under-addressed or ignored by state institutions.
