Reading, Writing and a Heartfelt Reception at Binks Forest Elementary School
The congratulatory notes and well wishes began pouring in immediately after Dr. Fennoy was named Superintendent of Schools last month.

Students and staff at  Binks Forest Elementary School were the very first group to congratulate Dr. Fennoy on his new position, and he thanked them for their support during a visit to campus yesterday. Ever the educator, Dr.  Fennoy took the opportunity to remind students about the importance of reading - even in the summer months. His message resonated with the children.

"So what's so wonderful and so important about summer reading is that, since you're not in school... it's a good practice to keep your brain working and increase your vocabulary," Dr. Fennoy shared.

"I think it's important to read because it builds your vocab, and you can be more fluent with your vocab and just...talking to people, " said fourth grader, Sebastian Burnett. "It builds your education, because you have to read math equations and you have to read in science, and I just think reading's really important."

But the project quickly turned into a whole lot more than that. Read more...
