MINISTER'S MESSAGE
Beloveds,

Ernest Holmes once wrote that humanity’s greatest fear was that God would not hear our prayers. Somehow, God always liked the other guy (or gal) better and just didn’t think so much of us. Facing this fear requires us to look at how much we judge ourselves and others. It requires us to heal from old wounds, forgive old hurts and begin to see ourselves as we really are. We must awaken to the magnificence of our own souls.
All of those things sound good to me, and yet I find that I and many others avoid them like the proverbial plague. There’s pain in healing a wound; sometimes more pain in healing than in getting the original wound. There’s also a strange unease in many people with feeling too happy, or having too much good in our lives. Maybe we think that there more we have, the more that mean old God can take away.

So here’s the truth. We are already magnificent. We are already heirs to the kingdom of heaven, to all the Good that is. Yes, it might be scary and even painful to begin to accept the Divine in us, but we can do it as a community. We must face our fears of unworthiness, of being ridiculed, of not knowing how to live in a drama-free environment. We must face our fears to move beyond them. What I have found is that waiting for the pain is far worse than the pain, and once we begin to heal, it takes much less time and effort than we have built it up to be in our minds. So let’s just do it – face the fears and live our magnificent lives!

Board Report
Hello and Blessings to all.

Hello CSL P. I hope and pray this report finds everyone healthy, abundant, and joyous. This has obviously been a year like no other in our lifetimes. Our country has had many difficult years and we have always survived, and we will survive this. My heart goes out to all who have contacted COVID or who have family that have this disease, especially those who have family members or friends that have not survived. Blessings.

Your Center is doing nicely although we are working hard. As of this writing, all of the necessary underground piping in the parking lot has been installed, the asphalt has been installed and the striping has been completed. Yet to come is the parking lot lighting, the landscape and the labyrinth and new Center for Spiritual Living street signs.  Hopefully, the Board will be meeting soon and discuss these things. If anyone would like to volunteer, either with ideas, labor or financial, your Center would appreciate your support.

Financially, your Center is doing well, although we do have expenses up coming around the parking lot. Our employee guarantee pay from the Feds has given us money to pay our employees without it coming out of our pocket, however that has ended. As for our streaming, we are continuing to try and make it better. Rev. Kathleen, Clay, and Andy especially deserve a round of applause for enhancing our video. Jackson has done a wonderful job getting musicians for our Sundays.

As for reopening, your Board will be meeting to decide when and how. We have many elderly congregants so, especially for them, we want a very safe environment. We need to keep Rev. Kathleen, Jackson, and anyone else who is part of the services safe. We need to meet standards set by Yavapai Co, Prescott, or the State of Arizona. But we can and will do these things. Although streaming is good, we want to get the Center open and spend Sundays with our friends

Blessing to all,
Tom Kimmerle (Board President)
PRACTITIONER PERSPECTIVE
Little Bits of Love
reusable-water-bottle.jpg
These days so many people are wanting to know how to make an active difference in their community and the world around them. God is Infinite Mind, whose intelligence and good are reflected in each of us. So whatever the unique circumstance may be, the right answer is present and discoverable. For me, I’ve been guided doing what I call “little bits of love.”

Not too long ago, when I was entering my local grocery store, I saw an older woman standing across the street preaching to whomever would listen.

She was still there when I walked back to my car. I was busy and it was hot. Looking at her I thought, “That woman is going to be dehydrated.” I got everything in my car and she was still there. I thought, “Someone should give her some water or something.” Immediately Spirit replied, “Someone?”

Exactly! That someone was me! I went inside and bought her a bottle of cold water. She was delighted, exclaiming “God Bless You!” I replied, “God already has.”

When we see a situation that we can ease or make better, we NEED to do that! Not all challenges are what they seem. Sometimes they enable us to practice a living faith that helps others. We believe that God is a Loving Intelligence, operating in and through all life, never separate from anyone or anything. With that “little bit of love”, I was God’s Love in Action.

Love and more love,

Hazel Bowman, RScP

GET SUPPORT FROM THE HEART CONNECTION
During this strange time in which so many people are feeling stress, the Heart Connection continues to connect with those in our CSLP family. We are sending cards, writing emails, and making telephone calls. There have been car parades in Prescott Valley and Prescott with CSLP members parading by sequestered folks' homes, honking their horns, waving, yelling hello, and having encouraging, loving signs on their cars. This certainly brightened the day for those recipients! We are encouraging people to reach out to our wonderful Practitioners and to call us in the Heart Connection for any needs. We are keeping our CSLP family in our prayers and are all looking forward to the day when our Center opens again. Love and Blessings to all!

VISITATION MINISTRY
The month of July, 2020 continued to present challenges to the Visitation team. The month of July, due to social distancing and closing of Retirement homes, and hospitals to visitors. The team relied on telephone calls to make visits.  During the month of July, 2020, eight (8) team members reported visiting (actual or Telephone) 16 separate individuals during the month; A total of 54 visits were made. One (1) tram member perform a wedding for an individual she visited. In addition, the team reported participating in two (2) Virtual Prayer Circles for individuals who were undergoing a medical procedure.

Would you like a visit, telephone visit, telephone call, Prayer Circle or Virtual Prayer Circle by the Visitation Team for yourself or another? A Virtual Prayer Circle is performed when it is impractical to be at the hospital. A Virtual Prayer Circle is where each member goes into prayer at a designated time, wherever they are, for an individual undergoing a medical procedure. If this is for you, please contact the Pastoral Care Coordinator, David Sharer RScP at (928) 771 2791. The team loves to serve by making visits and praying with you.
