Upcoming Open Courses

We will be launching a new series of open courses following the release of HEC-RAS 5.0.4, starting with a 1-week course in Sydney from 4-8 June 2018.

Our popular dam break course will return in October 2018 in conjunction with the ANCOLD conference in Melbourne. Register your interest here.

We will also be holding a comprehensive course in New Zealand in April 2018 covering HMS along with an introduction to geomorphology and sediment transport. Register your interest here.

In addition to more locations around Australia and New Zealand, we will be holding courses in Europe and North America in 2018.

Please pass along the registration of interest form to colleagues or professional contacts.  Referral discounts are available.

Customised In-house Courses

In-house courses can be customised to suit your organisation's needs and can provide better value by focussing your time on topics most relevant to you. Tutorial exercises can be created from your own projects.

In addition to HEC-RAS, we also offer specialised training in dam break, sediment transport, HEC-HMS, GIS interfacing, hydraulic structure design, and other topics.

Free webinar: What's new in HEC-RAS 5.0.4?

We have been busy testing the beta version of HEC-RAS 5.0.4.
Mark your calendar for Thursday 22 February (21st in the U.S.) to learn about the exciting new features coming with the next release. I will be joining with HDR's Mark Forest for the first of our monthly 2018 HEC-RAS webinars hosted by ICE WaRM. Free registration here

We'll post the recording for anyone unable to join live. Our next monthly webinar will cover customising HEC-RAS with the HECRASController, which allows setting up Monte Carlo analyses and ensemble modelling that will get you in line with ARR 2016. Please subscribe to be notified of the date and time.

ARR 2016 driving you bonkers?

Ensemble modelling and Monte Carlo analyses are great for hydrology, but what do you do when your hydraulic model takes a week to run a single storm pattern? How about the frequency storm? Download an interactive frequency storm generator here that takes IFD data straight from the BoM interface.

Closing the wormhole

HEC-RAS Version 5.0.4 marks the end of wormhole culverts, both for long culverts and internal boundary conditions. So how do the new culverts stack up? Check out these results:

New 1-metre Terrain Data for Australia

A whole new set of 1-metre resolution digital elevation model data has become publicly available. Check the coverage and download the datasets here.

Using RAS Mapper as a GIS tool
Our first in this series of articles on RAS Mapper as a GIS tool covers how to set up saved views and load static imagery in RAS Mapper.

3D Visualisation

We are working with some very talented software developers to produce an exciting new 3D visualization tool to interface with HEC-RAS. If you are interested in being a beta tester, please submit an expression of interest.
