Stone Barn

The Stone Barn in Phippsburg is firmly settled into the rocky ledge, sitting serenely next to the summer home to which this new building is the studio/garage. The gray palette and small barn-like architecture highlight this garage with open slat walls, and a one-room studio above. A Murphy bed pulls out of the wall when needed, and the simple architecture of the interior creates a quiet space. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Navis Cafe

The Navis Cafe is receiving final permit review by the City of Portland, and will be opening soon. This clean and modern cafe was fit-out in the new Wex Building, and despite many challenges through the pandemic, the aesthetic feels great. Interior design by Jeanne Handy Designs, construction by Andrew Sevingny Builders.
Hanging Bed

We were able to visit the Get Away to get some additional photos of the hanging bed which was completed this spring by Oceanside Builders. The second floor of the screen porch doubles as an outdoor bed off the primary bedroom, and when not in use, rises out of the way to enjoy a daytime screen porch with views of the water.
Site Visit

Not a bad way to perform a site visit. David and Scott paddled the entire New Meadows River recently, and spotted a few of DMA's projects. The most recent under construction is For the Winn, sitting at the end of Birch Point. Interior Design by Jeanne Handy Designs, construction by Frohmiller Construction. 
Georgetown Cape

The interior has just a few punch list items to go, and now all that is left at the Georgetown Cape is the finish grading and landscaping. A formal cape greets guests arriving by car and the other, much taller house, greets boaters. However, the color helps it blend into the landscape and does not distract from the landscape. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.

Otter Way

Otter Way is striking as you drive up the driveway and are greeted with a horizontal and vertical board siding and two-story, south facing windows. Large barn doors hide the bar and pantry, and the wood walls offer wonderful accents. Interior design by the owner and Jeanne Handy Designs. Construction by Corey Rattleff.

On the Drawing Board

We received planning board approval for a shoreland zoning project in Arrowsic to construct a driveway to a small ocean-front cottage, future home, and barn/workshop. We have been working on elevation studies so the owner can review while camping on the land.
