Medi-Cal Provider Enrollment
Last week DHCS announced the discontinuance of the long standing moratorium on the enrollment of DME providers in certain areas of California and with limited exceptions for some services. This was the last moratorium to be eliminated with one for clinical labs eliminated in 2017 and one for pharmacy eliminated late in 2018. The moratoriums had existed for over a decade.

PAVE 101 Training Webinar 3/21 and 3/28
Due to overwhelming demand, the Provider Enrollment Division will hold additional PAVE 101 training webinars on Thursday, March 21, 2019, and again on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 12 - 2 p.m. All current and future PAVE users are encouraged to attend. Registration for the webinars are required (sign up here). The webinar slides are currently available here.
On March 5, 2019, paper applications were eliminated for most fee-for-service (FFS) Medi-Cal providers (see here for the Public Notice). The training webinars will cover the basics of using the PAVE electronic application system.

Medi-Cal Physician Group Declares Bankruptcy
Golden Shore Medical ceased operations in January. We had heard from several members about lack of payment for DME and supplies provided to Medi-Cal beneficiaries. We have now been informed that Golden Shores has filed for bankruptcy on March 1, 2019. Here is a link to the notice.
