Frequently Asked Questions

When should I plan to arrive?
Your arrival in Kalamazoo depends on your interests. Events taking place on Friday evening include two theatrical productions by the WMU Theatre department, WMU's Night of Excellence, and Art Hop in downtown Kalamazoo.

How do I order tickets?
You can order event tickets through the Bronco   ticket office  with the promotion code, FAMILY or call (269) 387-8092.

Does my WMU student need a ticket to the pre-game tailgate stampede?
Yes. All tailgate attendees need to purchase a ticket (wrist band). This is a "can't miss" event with an all-you-can-eat breakfast and brunch buffet, live entertainment and fun activities for the whole family.

Can I sit with my WMU student at the football game?
Yes. WMU students get into the game for free by showing their Bronco ID cards. Family and friends can purchase football tickets at a discounted rate of $15 and sit with your WMU student in the student section (which spans one entire side of the stadium).

Tell me about the Sunday Brunch.
Our annual Family Weekend Sunday Brunch will be in the Valley Dining Center. Live entertainment will be provided by students from the WMU Jazz Studies program. Advance ticket purchase is available
and WMU students with a valid meal plan or dining dollars can swipe their Bronco ID cards. Delicious food in a beautiful setting - what better way to enjoy time with your student?

No time to create a care package? The Gold'n Brown Bakery is right here on campus with a variety of goodies to celebrate your student. Campus delivery service is available.
Study Abroad
Is your student interested in studying abroad? Encourage them to attend the Study Abroad Fair on Sept. 26.

You may be wondering, is Study Abroad affordable?

Answer: Yes! Study Abroad can be affordable.
There are many scholarship opportunities available and a student's college may offer scholarships specifically for studying abroad.

In 201 7-18 the Haenicke Institute for Global Education awarded over $400,000 in scholarships.
Exchange programs (where a WMU student and an international student switch places) can also be an affordable option and in some cases may be more economical than the cost of attendance for a semester on WMU's campus!

Career Preparation
Encourage your student to consider this opportunity to build their career-ready wardrobe at affordable prices.
