DON'T MISS THESE EVENTS HAPPENING TONIGHT
Whale Ghost by Pitaya (France)
Presented by Whiting Turner
On Constellation Pier

Inspired by their visit to the Aquarium during Light City 2017, Pitaya commissions a brand new monumentally-scaled kinetic sculpture that echoes marine mammal and fossil skeletons seen in natural history museums. Whale Ghost invites the audience to spend a moment thinking about the impact of mankind on our biodiversity: how it can affect multiple species and how, if nothing changes, it could lead us to their disappearance and by extension, to our extinction.
In Whale Ghost, the audience is therefore witnessing the poetic dance of what could be the Ghost of the last remaining Whale.
