Republic School District Families and Employees,

Earlier today we notified you of two positive student cases (one at RHS and one at RMS). Since that notification was sent, we have been notified of a second positive student at RMS. This student was not symptomatic, but was contagious and at school on Friday, August 28. Please join us in sending wishes for a speedy recovery for this student.

At the direction of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department all students and employees who were exposed to the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 have been individually contacted by phone call. Those needing to self-isolate and quarantine to help stop the spread have been directed to do so. If you did not receive an individual phone call about this situation, no action is needed. District sanitation practices were immediately implemented as well.

Notifications like these are sent in an effort to be as transparent as possible in providing important information for our families and employees as we all work to stay as healthy as possible during this uncertain time. However, to limit the number of emails our patrons receive, moving forward we will send one email each evening that there is a positive case in our district instead of sending notifications as they happen.

That said, we will continue to immediately contact individuals who are directly exposed and may need to quarantine via individual phone calls as soon as contact tracing has been completed.

We want to take this opportunity to remind our patrons about the rules we are required to follow per the CDC and Greene County Health Department in regards to isolation and quarantine situations using the graphic below. In addition, details and example scenarios can be found on the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/quarantine.html.
Information in regards to the district's response to COVID19 can be found at https://www.republicschools.org/healthupdates. Thank you for your support and flexibility as we navigate this time.
