Spring Open House
Our current families and students are an important piece of our promotion of student enrollment. Please help spread the word that York Catholic is hosting a Spring Open House on  Wednesday, May 2, from 6-7:30 PM. Prospective junior high and senior high students and their families are welcome to tour the school, meet students and staff, as well as hear from the experts--our current parents--who will be mingling with our guests and sharing information on their positive YC experiences.

Click  here for a coupon as a thank you for sharing this information with your friends. You receive a $25 off your re-registration fee and they get their application fee waived. Encourage your friends to pre-register for Open House at  www.yorkcatholic.org. For more information, contact Ms. Heather Hoffman at 717-846-8871 x220.

Parent Referral Program
If you know a friend, family member or anyone looking for a high-quality, Christ-centered education for their children who do not already attend a Catholic school, you could receive a $50 credit toward your child's tuition at York Catholic, with a chance to win a $500 credit.

York Catholic's Parent Referral Program is a win-win for everyone involved. Referred students receive an outstanding education from York Catholic, while parents of the referred families get peace of mind knowing their child is gaining so much more than just a top-notch education.  Families who refer someone who registers at York Catholic receive a $50 credit towards their child's tuition.

You, as parents, are our best ambassadors.   In order for the Parent Referral Program to be a success, we need information about individuals who may be interested in joining the York Catholic family. All you need to do is click here to fill out the form. During the registration process, if you are listed as the referring individual for a friend or other enrolling individual, we will credit your child 's account with $50.  In May, one family who referred someone who enrolled at YC will be randomly selected to win a $500 tuition credit.

It really is that simple. So go ahead. Please click on the link above and allow us the opportunity to do what we love - help to develop, nurture and encourage children so they may grow in faith, mind, and heart. Mail or email the form to us and we will take it from there!

Thank you for all you do for our school!

Student Art Show

Over 350 students receive art instruction at York Catholic and are exposed to pencil drawing, canvas painting, marker designs, portraits, linoleum block prints, watercolors, charcoal drawings, and sculpture. These art students are hosting a public display of their work at the school May 1-3 from 8 AM-3 PM and May 1 from 7-8:30 PM. Students in grades 7-11 are showing their work completed during this school year, while students in grade 12 are showing a compilation of their work from throughout their school career.
Friday, May 4 - No School/Prom

There is no school scheduled on Friday, May 4.

The Junior/Senior Prom will be held Friday, May 4, at Wisehaven Banquet Center. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Students must be in the Grand Ballroom by 6 PM. The dance ends at 10:30 PM.
Parents of Seniors
As we prepare to celebrate our seniors' successful completion of high school, we remind parents of the following:
  • If you have not done so, please send in a 4x6 or 5x7 photo of your child when he/she was younger than age 5. Please put it in an envelope with your child's name on the front
  • Please write a personal congratulations letter to your graduate and encourage siblings, grandparents, Godparents, teachers, and others to write as well. In the past, letters reminisced about the graduate's growth of life or hopes for the future. It can be a note card, a song, a poem, a card, or a 10 page letter -- your choice. Place each card or letter in an envelope and label it with your child's name, and be sure each letter is signed by the author. We would like each child to have a letter from at least one parent and 2 additional people.
Please place all envelopes, cards, and photo envelope in a large envelope and send it to Roxanne Castellanos' attention at York Catholic by Tuesday, May 1. Please do not send gifts for students.
New Process!  Sports Physicals Paperwork
to be Completed Online
Students wishing to participate in athletics during the 2018-2019 school year must submit the following paperwork online:
  • PIAA Physical Form
  • Athlete & Parent Agreement
  • ImPACT Test
Students wishing to play any sport during the 2018-2019 school year MUST verify the paperwork is on file with Mr. Hayek no later than Wednesday, August 1 , at 3 PM; no exceptions.

NEW!! PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT CHANGE

The York Catholic Athletic Department now hosts their Athletic Forms online with Arbiter Athlete, powered by PlanetHS, a software company committed to keeping student(s) safe. This digital platform will allow parents and athletes to complete and access most athletic forms (physicals, agreements, etc.) via computer, tablet, or mobile phone. It is HIPPA, COPPA, and FERPA compliant.

York Catholic will continue to host Sports Physicals at OSS Health in June. Instead of printing 9 pages of information to take to the doctor as was needed previously, you will instead complete the information online and only print 2 pages for the doctor to review and complete.

Before forms can be completed by parent and student, ArbiterAthlete accounts must be set-up by each athlete and his or her parent. Click here for instructions on how to set-up an account. Forms will be valid for the entire 2018-2019 school year.

Failure to complete the online paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season. For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team. Contact Mr. Hayek at  bhayek@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x244 if you have any questions and to be sure you have a valid ImPACT Test on file. If you need technical assistance with Arbiter Athlete/PlanetHS, email schoolsupport@planeths.com.

A brief instructional meeting regarding these changes will be held for parents and athletes Wednesday, May 16, at 7 PM in the YC auditorium.
Quest Day & Minute Madness

Senior High Quest Day
"Our Gaelic Quest" is a year-long class wars competition among the senior high grades. The class wars competition culminates with the highly anticipated Quest Day to be held outside
on Thursday, May 3, from 1-3 PM on our athletic fields. Quest Day will allow grade-level groups to compete against each other in field day-style games and events. Students should wear jeans, sweatpants, or PE shorts along a t-shirt representing their class color on Quest Day: Seniors-black, Juniors-red, Sophomores-green, Freshmen-blue.

Junior High Minute Madness
While the Senior High students will be participating in Quest Day, the junior high students will be competing in Minute Madness in the gymnasium. Homeroom teams will test their skills in a variety of Minute-to-Win-It games. Students should wear jeans, sweatpants, or PE shorts along with a t-shirt representing their homeroom color: 4-red, 11-orange, 12-yellow, 13-green, 14-blue, 118-tie dye, 121-black, 122-purple, 123-pink, 124-white.
