Tile Display of the Month - Examples from the TCC Database
|
Many of our members were simply blown away by the beauty of the individual and grouped transferware tiles portrayed by our speaker, Hans van Lemmen, at our 2017 meeting in Phoenix, and in the recent TCC Bulletin article by Connie Rogers, "Anatomy of Tiles" (TCC Bulletin Vol. XIX, No. 2, September 2018). Featured tiles in Connie's article are documented in the TCC Database of Patterns and Sources.
We (your eNews editor) were particularly struck by tile groupings prepared by our DB Image Editor, Kurt O'Hare. Thus, a new eNews feature was born. Featured herein is a 24 image composite prepared by Kurt of a maker unknown tile assigned the name Fluffy Floral Time (DB Pattern No. 17790). We'll have more every month!

Richards Transferware Research Grant Program: 2019
Applications Now Being Accepted.
|
The Transferware Collectors Club is pleased to welcome applications for the 2019 Paul and Gladys Richards Charitable Foundation Research Grant Program for the study of British Transferware. Past transferware research grants have subsidized research expenses, book printing costs, and meeting speaker fees; research subjects have included advertising on transferware, images of Latin America on transferware, digitizing of historically important slides, photographing of important collections, develop on-line exhibitions, and investigate various specialized topics. Application submittal deadline is May 4. More information.

2018 Meeting
in Providence, RI
|
|
The 2018 annual meeting in Providence RI featured a day-trip to the Mystic Seaport Museum, the nation's leading maritime history museum and home to many historic wooden vessels and tall ships, including the Charles W. Morgan. The visit included lectures by the Museum Curator Fred Calabretta and TCC Keynote Speaker Dr. Neil Ewins. The group returned to Providence for two more days of informative lectures, activities, and the Sunday Transferware Sale. Watch for a full report featuring many images from the meeting.

Staffordshire Romantic Transferware Patterns Vol 1-3
