SENIOR SPOTLIGHT
Today's Senior Spotlight brings us Jack Hill representing Naperville North High School. This marks the sixth in our 2018 series which has also highlighted graduates from Benet Academy, Naperville Central, and St. Francis. Each profile clearly demonstrates how well our 
graduates have been prepared for a successful high school experience regardless of where they enroll upon graduating from Saints Peter and Paul School.
Extra-curricular activities:
For the past four years of my high school career I have been a member of both the soccer and basketball programs at Naperville North.
Service:
Ever since my sophomore year at Naperville North I have participated in the Feed My Starving Children's Club in Aurora which is an organization where students regularly visit Feed My Starving Children.
I have also volunteered in Hoops for Healing which is a fundraiser for the Huskies Basketball team that raises money for the Edward Hospital Cancer Center. The proceeds go toward Camp Hope, a summer camp provided to children ages 5-12 whose parents or grandparents are going through cancer treatment. My teammates and I volunteer to teach basketball skills to the participants.

I will be attending Lewis University in Romeoville next fall to play Division II College basketball

Career Goals:
I intend on flying for either a commercial airline or for some larger corporation. I also hope to give back to my community by eventually volunteer coaching basketball at Naperville North High School.
What I learned at Saints Peter and Paul that has helped me in high school:
- Time Management is extremely important, especially when you're involved in extra-curricular pursuits.
- Keeping a close knit group of friends who will always have your back is extremely important.
- Hard work does always pay off in and out of the classroom.
- Prayer, and remaining close to God, keeps you grounded in good times and bad.
- Cherish every moment and every experience along the way because time flies.
Teacher at Saints Peter and Paul who had the most influence on you:
Mrs. Phillipp will always have a major impact on my academic success. She was my Math teacher in seventh and eighth grade and always pushed me to work my hardest and do my best. I also had so many friends in her classes who kept me focused on my lessons.
The way Mrs. Phillipp taught Math made everything so much easier for me, and she will always be remembered by me from an academic standpoint. She also helped form me by continually emphasizing the need to treat everyone the same way. She was always very accepting and forgiving and this shed a new light on my perspective of life. Mrs. Phillipp will always be remembered by me as one of my most influential teachers.
Best Peter and Paul experience you cherish:
My greatest memory at Saints Peter and Paul was 80's night 8th grade year. Everyone at the school came that night to pack the gym that it seemed like a high school basketball game. The atmosphere was unreal, and I remember before the game my teammates and I came together and just talked about everything we have accomplished at SSPP. This was one of the most fun basketball games I have ever played in, and all of my teammates believed in one another. We ended up winning the game and this for me was a good way to finish our basketball season and wrap up our career at Saints Peter and Paul.
Advice for current students:
Do not be afraid of starting over even if it is a big school like Naperville North! Coming out of Saints Peter and Paul you are well-prepared for every experience and opportunity high school has to offer. Just remember high school is very important and the very first day you walk into high school it is important in setting a tone.
My one piece of advice is be outgoing and find friends and good people to associate with. Make sure you hang with the right crowd who share your values and will always have your back. Have fun and make great memories!
