We are raising funds toward Preschool and Elementary playground equipment and STEM materials and we need your help!  Our students will participate in a multi-day fitness based fundraiser where they will learn skills to improve their character through this year's theme: MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB.

Five Gainesville students have qualified to compete in the state's National Geographic GeoBee.

Lincoln Middle School's Kyle Coleman, Williams Elementary's Owens Parks-Church, Millhopper Montessori School's Westin Martin, Oak Hall's Spencer Fuhr and Queen of Peace Catholic Academy's Miles Barnash will join 100 other Florida students chosen by the National Geographic Society to advance.

Students, grades four through eight, competed in their school's own geography bee, with the champions taking another online test where the top scoring 100 are chosen to continue to the state bee.

State winners are awarded medal, $1,000 and a spot in the national championship in Washington, D.C. this spring.

The program is in its 31st year, and over 2.5 million students competed in the national competition this year, according to National Geographic Society members.

The Florida contest will take place March 29 at Jacksonville University.
