NEW PRESIDENT 

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce is delighted to introduce our new President effective August 1, 2018.

Kristi Meek comes to us via the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce where she was the Director of Member Relations. This is a great loss for the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, but a wonderful addition for our chamber.

Please join us in welcoming Kristi to the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce.  She will be in the office Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Experience the magic of Canada's largest Chinese Lantern festival. Occupying over 10 acres, the scale of this giant exposition of Chinese lantern art will be sure to amaze. A true labour of love and time to build, approximately 75-100 Chinese artisans have constructed specially designed light artwork statues depicting Manitoba, Canada and Chinese icons and symbols illuminated by millions of LED lights and using various common items such as plates, cups and saucers, medicine vials, plastic bottles and ping-pong balls.

There will be traditional Chinese performances by professional performers including an interactive dinosaur experience, a performance by Chinese acrobats, a Sichuan Opera Face Changing display, as well as fire breathing, plate spinning, kicking bowls, Chi nese folk dancers and much more.
This is a truly magical show that will be here to delight Winnipeggers and thousands of visitors from around the world.

Membership Marketing Team 

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce was successful in receiving a summer student grant to employ a student to further our chamber network. Throughout the summer we have had Josh Dielmann visiting businesses in our service territory so we could understand our community better. Results of Josh's research will be shared in the coming months.

The Chamber would like to thank to Steve Chipman at Birchwood Automotive Group for providing transportation for Josh.
