looks forward to seeing you at our November dance on the fourth Saturday this month, November 24th, at the Municipal Arts Center (the MAC). Eddie K returns to be our DJ for the evening; there is no lesson this month and our dance is from 8-11 pm with our Westie Power Hour, all WCS music, from 10-11 pm!
- $10 for CSDS Members

- $5 for Students (FT w/ID), First-Time Attendees and
CSDS Members with November Birthdays
- Children Under 16 are Free! (childcare not provided)
FOOTWEAR: please wear either dance shoes or light-colored soles; whatever you wear must be non-marking.

CSDS Dancers Head to US Open!
We are so proud to have three CSDS dancers heading to Burbank, CA over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to compete their routines at the
US Open Swing Dance Championships, the Olympics of West Coast Swing! Junior Jacen Northcutt, with partner Taylor Garrish of MD, will compete in the Young Adult division; Allison Bennett, with pro partner, Ben McHenry of CA, will compete in the ProAm division; and local pro Alyssa Gillespie, with pro partner Rob Glover of MA, will compete in the Showcase division! You can watch the event live via
Global Dance TV (for a fee). Good luck Jacen, Allison and Alyssa, we are so proud of you and you're all winners in our book!

Local Dancers on JT Swing Team DC!

Charlottesville/CSDS dancers Maria Ferrara and Barbara Frost have joined JT Swing Teams DC, directed by Erica Smith! So have Aaron Gonzales and Scott Brandt who we also think of our own. :-) Founded by WCS legends Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollmann, 11 time US Open Classic Division Champions, each JT Swing Team is run by a qualified local director who teaches the team members the routines. Each team learns the same routine, providing team members with maximized performance opportunities as there are team members all over the world who know the same routine! At any given weekend dance event, team members from all over can come together to perform their routines! What a great concept! Plans are in the works to have members of JT Swing Teams DC come to Charlottesville to perform their Season 4 routine at an upcoming CSDS dance, we can't wait!!

New Dance Group in RVA!
West Coast Swing RVA, the Richmond area's newest dance group headed up by Baramon Kolb, Tammy Davis and Scott Brandt, is hosting their first dance this month in Colonial Heights,
West Coast Swing RVA 2nd Saturday Dance on Saturday, November 10th at
Genia Johnson Dance Company. With a combined total of more than 50 years of dance experience between the three of them, Baramon, Tammy and Scott are excited to be hosting their own events and helping to grow the dance community in Richmond and the surrounding counties in Central Virginia. You can "Like/Follow" their
Facebook page to stay up to date on their classes and dances. We wish them the best of luck in their dance endeavors and look forward to attending their events!

Adela is often the Table/Group Dinner Organizer for events attended by C-ville Westies (and Central VA) dancers ~ if you're planning to go to any of these or other events, let her know! And reserve your hotel room ASAP as the event hotels usually sell out well in advance; you can always cancel it later. Don't wait until you decide to go to book your room; it will be too late!
Gaia Read often organizes roadtrips from Charlottesville for the DC/MD/NoVA dances/events; contact her if you're interested in carpooling sometime.
