Academic Decathlon Nationals:
Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon team for their success at the USAD National Competition in Frisco, Texas. The team placed 12th in their division. Senior Alena Coleman won an individual bronze in Art, and Senior James Vincent won an individual silver in Interview.
The team included the following students: Alena Coleman, Mara Gleason, Olivia Huelsing, Jordan Lasher, Quinton Rose, Peyton Shake, James Vincent, and Brandon Weismann. The team is coached by Bob Exline, Carol Exline, Laura Ackerman, and Kristi Wetzel.
Waiver Required for After-Prom:
All students attending After-Prom at SkyZone must bring a completed waiver in order to participate. The waiver will be distributed when students purchase a prom ticket or parents can download a copy below.
AP Exam Fees:
A $95 fee is now being collected for those students taking one of the following AP exams: World History, Government, Spanish, German or Music Theory. Payment should be made to Reitz Memorial High School and submitted to Mrs. Popham by Monday, May 7.
Youth First Encourages Parents to Discuss the Dangers of Underage Drinking:
Youth First has provided helpful resources for parents to discuss the dangers of underage drinking on their website HERE . Parents are encouraged to read this important message as our students celebrate Prom this weekend. These reminders are important any time of the year, but pressures and risks are especially heightened during Prom and Graduation.
PTO Ladies Night Out - April 26:
The RMHS Spring Ladies Night Out will be held at Sugar Bakers on Thurs, April 26 from 6-8 PM. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. All proceeds from this event will help fund the class of 2018 After Baccalaureate event.

April is National Donate Life Month!
Celebrated in April each year, National Donate Life Month encourages Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of donation. Please consider registering as an organ and tissue donor at DonateLifeIndiana.org or by texting “DONOR” to 95577. Information about the benefits of organ donation is found at IndianaDonorNetwork.org. 

As of February 2018, there were a total of 1,280 people in Indiana awaiting transplantation. Locally, 47 people are waiting in Vanderburgh County. Transplantation includes organs (heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, intestines) and tissue (corneas, tendons, valves, veins, skin, bones).
