SEVEN WAYS TO PROTECT YOUR BUILDING
MOST COMMON SECURITY VULNERABILITIES

Recently, Parallel's physical security expert Mark Bonde was interviewed on where security is typically lacking in commercial buildings and what facilities managers can do to fix the issues.
According to Bonde, in addition to access control, "Video surveillance c ameras are a key component of the security program for many buildings, but it's easy to overlook holes in your camera coverage and storage. Buying a camera won't solve your problems by itself. There needs to be clear, usable video covering your entrances and exits.

EDGE ROOMS AND DATA CENTER CLOSETS
WHAT FACILITIES MANAGERS NEED TO KNOW

Thanks to technology advances and cost reduction, the once cost-prohibitive edge computing technology is driving change across many IT environments. Whether called "edge rooms" or "data center closets" technology is creating outcroppings of data processing and storage throughout the enterprise. While the location might be smaller or more remote than a traditional data center room, the functionality is just as critical. Don't let the monikers "room" or "closet" mislead you. What happens inside these mini data centers is vital to your organization; a failure can have a profound impact.
So, what do facilities managers need to know before they turn a storage closet into something more?

VALENTINE'S DAY GUESSING JAR WINNER!
JESSICA STONEBURG

In February, Parallel employees had a chance to guess how many pieces of candy were in the annual Valentine's Day Candy Jar. Some of the guesses came close, but Jessica submitted a guess of 285, and the actual amount was 277. Jessica won the candy as well as a $25 gift card! Thankfully she has been generous enough to keep the jar on her desk for others to enjoy!
