Board Meetings 
 
Farmington Square board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m., all residents are welcomed to attend.  The meeting location rotates monthly, please contact a member of the board to find out the upcoming location or contact [email protected].
 
2019 Annual Dues  
Don't Wait Until the Last Minute! We're a Third of the Way There! 
As of 1/20/2019 we have received 84 of 254 payments due by 2/28/2019.  This is 33% of the total with 170 payments remaining to be received.  In the 2019 dues letter, there was an inadvertent reference to an "attachment" to be returned.  This was an error we made when copying and preparing the letter based on last year's letter when we collected information to update our subdivision directory.  We apologize for this confusion.  
 
Please be sure to get your 2019 dues of $210 in by 2/28/2019  
to avoid late fees (noted at $25 per month plus 8% interest).
 
Subdivision Directory 
The new subdivision directory has been updated and should be ready for delivery in the next couple of months.

A few residents have already signed up to help deliver the new directories when they are available. However, we could use a few more volunteers. This would be great opportunity for any kids in our neighborhood who needs community hours. Volunteering to only deliver to the houses on your street is also appreciated. WELCOME NEW NEIGHBORS 
 
Please join me in welcoming our new neighbors who are happy to join our community and look forward to meeting all their neighbors.
 
Avery and Zena Hasenaver moved from West Bloomfield to 23010 Fox Creek. Avery is a financial planner and Zena does marketing for the auto industry. They love their new home and are busy with remodeling projects. They are excited to explore the Commons and all that Farmington Square has to offer.
 
David and Andrea Van Hoven were Northville and Farmington residents who purchased the house at 37425 River Bend. David is in sales and Andrea is a lawyer. Andrea is pleasantly surprised at how friendly our neighborhood has been to her and enjoys the beauty of our decorated entrances and the surrounding Commons. 
 
Edward Taylor who is from Taylor and his fiance, Sharia a Farmington resident are the new owners of the house at 37976 River Bend. They are looking forward to starting their life together in our beautiful subdivision. One of the "small world" events was finding out an old college buddy lives several houses down from him
 
 
YARD WASTE & GARBAGE IN COMMONS  
 
The Division of Public Works administers the rubbish removal program
 
Garbage cans:
bags and bundles should be placed at the curb  
or at the edge of the street in front of the home
no earlier than 6:00 PM on the day before collection.
 
All containers must be removed from the curb no later than 12 hours following collection.
   
Pickup will take place between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM,
but times may vary from week to week.    
To ensure pickup of all items, please have them at the curbside by 7:00 AM.
   
A bulk item can be described as a large piece of furniture, bed springs, refrigerator or freezer (with doors removed), stove, and other such items incidental to housekeeping for and in single-family residences....... will be picked up on your regularly scheduled collection day.
    
PLEASE DO NOT DISPOSE OF WASTE IN THE COMMONS.    
 
Food is also not allowed to be put out in the commons for the animals.  Please do not leave carrots and apples in the commons for the deer.
 
EASTER EGG HUNT 2019  
 
Visit with Easter Bunny will be held Saturday, April 20th at 1:30 PM.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH 
Are you interested in becoming our neighborhood watch representative? The point person establishes relationships between citizens and police officers and encourages people to report suspicious activity. If you are interested please contact   [email protected].

Solicitors must have a permit and a yellow lanyard.
You are welcomed to remind the solicitor we are a NO SOLICITING subdivision.
 
CONTRACTOR LIST
If you have had a good experience with a contractor please contact the board so we can add it to our list of recommended contractors.
In the same aspect please let us know if you have had a negative experience with a contractor so we can remove from our list.
  
FACEBOOK GROUP FOR ALL RESIDENTS
'Farmington Square'
A Facebook group has been created for all members of our community.  This Facebook group is for Farmington Square subdivision property owners and residents. The purpose of this group page is to serve as a connection for all Farmington Square residents, provide a place for home owners in Farmington Square to meet, post events, post relevant photos, share information and discuss issues facing our neighborhood to further develop the safety, value and overall quality and wellbeing within the area we all live. This group also serves as a place for neighbors to get to know neighbors and have fun doing so.
Search 'Farmington Square' on Facebook and send a request to join the group.  This group is a private group, not a page so that random strangers cannot virtually peer into our subdivision.  
 
SPEED
Please watch your speed while driving through the subdivision.  We want to ensure that all our residents feel comfortable when walking through our community.  
     
PETS
Please make sure you are cleaning up after your pets.  Also, pets need to be on a leash when walking through the commons areas.

Acceptable Items

Care should be taken when disposing of broken glass or other sharp objects, especially if plastic bags are used. Such items should be securely wrapped to prevent puncture of the bag and possible injury to the refuse collector. If objects have nails or other fasteners, they should be removed or hammered down so that the object is safe to pick up.
  • Appliances (remove doors on refrigerators and freezers)
  • Asphalt sealer (dry up, remove lid)
  • Basketball pole (cut in 4' lengths, NO concrete please)
  • Bathroom fixtures (toilet, sink, tub)
  • Bed frame (take apart, no need to bundle)
  • Carpet - Cut into 4' lengths, rolled up and tied
  • Countertops (4' or shorter)

  • Doors, garage (single is OK, double must be cut in half)
  • Drywall (bagged, 30 lb. limit per bag)

Sharps Disposal

To safely dispose of sharps (medical devices including needles, syringes, lancets, blades or any device that could puncture or cut the skin), use an FDA-approved sharps container when possible. Otherwise, a rigid plastic container that can be sealed and labeled properly is a good alternative. Curbside Recycling

The following items are able to be recycled. All items may be placed into your bin without being sorted.
  • Plastic Containers with Lids - examples include: all narrow-neck and wide-mouth plastic bottles and containers #1, #2, #4, #5 #6 (NO Styrofoam), #7.
  • #2 Bulky Plastics - examples include: cat litter buckets, large plastic pails, and molded kid's furniture.
  • Newspaper, Magazines and Catalogs
  • Junk Mail, Office Paper and Phonebooks
  • Cardboard and Boxboard - examples include: pizza boxes, shipping boxes, and food boxes. Flatten as needed.
  • Paper drink cartons - Empty, plastic-coated paper beverage cartons such as milk and juice cartons. Remove caps and straws. Do not flatten.
  • Glass bottles and Jars - all colors are accepted and lids and labels are acceptable
  • Household metals - examples include: empty cans, foil, pans and small scrap metal

Preparation of your recycling
As technology improves, we have been able to require much less preparation of the recyclables for pick-up. No longer must a resident remove labels or caps from food containers. Here are a few tips on how to make your recycling as easy as possible:
  • Please rinse containers. We're not looking for perfection; we just want to keep odors and pest problems at a minimum.
  • Labels do not need to be removed.
  • Keep caps on plastic bottles and containers.
  • Place all recycling items loose into your bin/cart.
  • Please don't place items into plastic bags. This will just make more work for the employees who separate the materials at the Southfield Materials Recovery Facility, where much sorting is done by hand.
  • You may wish to flatten cardboard or paperboard boxes, to allow for more space in your bin/cart.
