Welcome (BACK!) To Joy:
Allen & Sue Nelson
"We are not strangers to Joy Lutheran as we left in the 1990's but have very much felt welcomed on our return.
Here is a little about us...We have been married for 51 years and have 4 married daughters: Laurel Anfinson, Kirsten Imrie, Amy Holt and Beth Kinneman. We are blessed with 9 Grandchildren, most of who live in the area.
Allen was a Prescott teacher his entire career. He started here in 1969 and retired in 2002 after teaching 4th and 5th grade, as well as coaching middle school football and track.
I met Allen while spending a nursing rotation at the previous State Hospital (now Vets home) in Hastings. We were married in 1967 and I started working at the then St. Joseph's Hospital (later River Falls Are Hospital) in River Falls while Allen finished school. I worked as a Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Infection Control and Employee Health and lastly Care Manager before retiring in 2013.
We have enjoyed our retirement. Allen has many interests including hunting, fishing, and woodworking. We both love to travel and have taken many wonderful trips that include the Mediterranean (Spain and Italy), a river cruise down the Rhine (Amsterdam, Germany and France) and staying in Switzerland and lastly, visiting the Baltic including Russia, Northern Europe and the Scandinavian countries, ending in a stay in Iceland. Much of our time is spent watching the sports in which our Grandchildren participate."

Offering Envelope Changes
In an effort to be better stewards of the resources you entrust to Joy, we making a change to the way we use offering envelopes in 2019. We can save hundreds of dollars by not having to buy envelopes that don't get used.
We will be "recycling" unused envelopes (we have blocked out the date and number so they can be used by anyone, on any date. Because it will not be restricted to any one envelope number, it will be important that you
put your name on the envelope to ensure that you get credit for your gift (especially if you give cash).
Just pick up envelopes from the information desk as you need them. If you have questions or concerns about this, visit with the office and we can customize envelopes for you or if you would like assistance with moving to electronic giving we can help with that as well. Thank you for your generous support of our ministry.

Smartphone?
If you enjoy the convenience of a smartphone there are a couple of apps you may want to consider;
One is the
Give+
app (which is a free download wherever to get your downloads) w
hich allows you to make a electronic gift from your bank account instead of swiping a credit card (the handlin
g charges are significantly less, so more of your gifts gets to us). You can us it for one time gifts or managed giving, and it is all integrated into your regular electronic
giving to Joy. click here for instructions.
You also now have the ability to set up a
member portal
with our church database. This portal can be made into an app so you can have instant access to your data (with the ability to make changes and give permissions, view the church photo directory, and
see and print your giving statement whenever you want). To create a portal, click
here. If you want to make your login into an app just check with the office.
