American Heart Association District Heart Challenge
Our district is proud to participate in the American Heart Association's District Heart Challenge during February which will include a new component called Fun Fit Fridays (more to come). We will kick off our Fun Fit Fridays with Wear Red Day on Friday, February 1, 2019 !

Employment Opportunities
We have several employment opportunities available for the 2019-20 school year! A full list of opportunities can be found at  https://www.applitrack.com/republic/onlineapp/Please share with anyone that would be a good addition to our district team.
Price Field Decommission
As you may have seen, Price Field is currently being decommissioned. As a reminder, this is because the stadium was in dire need of structural and electrical updates due to safety reasons. Thanks to our community, we were able to instead use those funds to assist with the construction of the new Tiger Stadium at RHS. This also allowed for RMS games and activities to be moved to the field at that building. For the time being, Price Field will serve as green space for Price Elementary, and is being considered as a site to fulfill future district facility needs.

Nominate a RepMO Hero
Don't forget to nominate a fellow employee who goes above and beyond to serve our students and teammates for RepMO Hero! For January we will be honoring classified employees. CLICK HERE for the nomination form!

He also shared that students from Price Elementary will be featured at an MSBA event at the Missouri Capital in February.

During the "student spotlight" section, Lyon Elementary shared how they are strategically supporting all students to foster growth! This model is called Response to Intervention and can be seen across the district. Lyon refers to this as What I Need or WIN time. Simply, it is a time to meet students where they are with specific learning goals to address strengths and weaknesses. To learn more, check out the video to the left.

Following these highlights the  MSBA monthly report was viewed, and CTA representative, Amanda Hamilton provided an update from the group. A report can be seen on BoardDocs.

RHS Principal, Tyler Overstreet and his team presented information on the practice and formal ACT assessment given at RHS. In addition, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chance Wistrom provided a monthly update to the Board regarding facilities, elementary boundaries, state assessment activity, finance and district highlights.  Full administrative reports can be found on BoardDocs.

There were no individual discussion items on the agenda. The Board did take one action, which was to rescind the currently approved 2019-20 school calendar due to new legislative action.

The next regular meeting will take place on February 21 at 7:00 p.m.
