Sip & See Wilkinsburg's Designer Show House this Weekend
Wilkinsburg is home to many grand and historic homes and buildings, but they aren't often open to the public. However, this Saturday is your chance to check out the historic Yingling Mansion before it's transformed into the Junior League's Designer Show House this May!

Located at 1300 Wood Street between Hill and Singer, the Mansion was originally constructed in 1906 as a private residence for Roswell G. Yingling and his family. After Mr. and Mrs. Yingling died, the property was turned into a hospital in 1927, then a nursing home in the '40s, and most recently, the property was known as the Gibbs Rest Home, which closed in 2014.

The Mansion has since been purchased by a private owner who aims to restore the historic integrity of the building and ensure its future as an important asset for the Wilkinsburg community.

Visit the Yingling Mansion this Saturday, March 24, 2-5 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes a tour of the 22-room property and a complimentary beer. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the Junior League.

Apply: Wilkinsburg Youth Grant Applications Due April 27
©Jason Cohn
Each spring, we host our annual Youth Initiative Mini-Grant Program to provide funds to local organizations that support the academic and civic endeavors of Wilkinsburg youth.

Our 2018 grant cycle is OPEN NOW! Grant applications will be accepted until April 27.

Now in our eighth year, we have had the opportunity to support many organizations and serve hundreds of local youth through our mini-grant program. And with the help of the Howard & Nell E. Miller Foundation, we have been able to increase our efforts and help even more organizations over the past three years.
