It was another great week for our Royalty Candidates. Along with more valuable training, including Self Defense lessons with our partners at Sharp Shooters, a few of the girls enjoyed a day off to celebrate their school's "spirit week" competitions.
At Self Defense training, the ladies learned how to be aware of their surroundings as well as techniques to quickly avoid a potentially dangerous situation. We want to thank Robin Ball and her staff Sharp Shooters for providing this important training to our Candidates each year.
Earlier in the week, they also received Social Media training. Past Princess Elisabeth Hooker (Marketing & Programming Director with Downtown Spokane) and Lance Kissler (AVP of Strategic Marketing & Communications at EWU) helped explain the history, importance and responsibility of Social Media not only as a Lilac representative but as a member of our community. It was very important information for both our Candidates and Members. Thank you Liz and Lance!
Keep reading this week's Lilac Weekly where we introduce more of our "We Are Spokane" Candidates.
And don't forget to mark your calendars for
Sunday, March 3rd at 3pm for the 2019 Royalty Coronation
at West Valley High School! Tickets now on sale.

What an amazing time we had last weekend! It was a great honor to be this year's host for the annual Northwest Festival Hosting Group Conference. We enjoyed having all of our friends from the 9 other Festivals in our group. We learned a lot from each other's best practices as well as learning opportunities. We are fortunate to be a part of such a great community of Festivals around our region and we look forward to attending as many as we can this coming season.
