This year Out and Proud Week is week 4 of spring quarter April 23-27, 2018 and we need help to make it happen! The theme is "Out and Proud: More Than What You See", which has sub-themes of community, intersectionality, and visibility.

The 5th BlaqOUT Conference will take place on April 27-28, 2018 at University of California, Riverside. 

The 5th BlaqOut Conference is an annual conference for anyone who self identifies as Black/African American or of African Descent and as Same Gender Loving, Lesbian, gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning or somewhere on the LGBTQ Spectrum. The GEH Brown Bag series is an opportunity for the campus community to present either works in progress or completed works in an informal setting. Our speaker for this Brown Bag series is Daniella Mcdonald, the first openly out transgender woman in the School of Medicine.  Daniella will be discussing transgender surgery as a transgender woman herself. FtM: Scouting the Unknown Ryan Sallans

Since 2005, Ryan's transition story,  Scouting the Unknown,  has been captivating audiences on university campuses nationwide. Ryan first covers basic terminology and language surrounding sex assigned at birth, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. He then moves into terminology surrounding transgender and nonbinary identities, and explains gender identity development. His talk will also discuss the relationship between body image and sexuality, and the complexities of body acceptance and transgender identities. 
San Diego Pride Volunteer Youth Programs Coordinator Hiring

San Diego Pride is looking for students to fill the Volunteer Youth Programs Coordinator positions for the year! The Youth Programs Coordinator reports to the Youth Programs Manager and is responsible for overseeing various programs for LGBTQ youth. The coordinator will provide quality customer service and ensures a safe, fun and positive environment with the youth, their families and partnered LGBTQ youth-serving organizations. The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender Identities in a confidential setting.  This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out.  Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, family/cultural issues, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. The group is open to new members the first 4 meetings of each quarter and then closes to maintain safe space.

The Black Resource Center is partnering with the Hub to put on a cooking and meal prep workshop to show students how to eat well while in college. All of the food items that will be used in the demonstration can be obtained through the Triton Food Pantry. Come participate in MEChA de UCSD's 28th annual High School Conference on April 7, 2018, from 8AM-6PM! This year's theme is "Las Raices del Cambio" which translates to "The Roots of Change" where we will promote and empower under represented high school youth.

UCSD Walkout for Gun Violence Prevention

Join us on March 14th in a school wide walkout as we stand in solidarity with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School community and all of those affected by gun violence across our nation.

The event will take place for 17 minutes in honor of the lives lost on February 14th. We will be meeting at 10:00 AM at Silent Tree and will have speakers and representatives from The Brady Campaign and Moms Demand Action.

We encourage all students, staff, and faculty to join us in saying #NeverAgain as we demand lawmakers create policy that makes MSDHS the last mass shooting of our generation and sparks an end to ALL gun violence. #Enough
