As students transition back to school in the fall, teachers are faced with working with students with heightened states of fear and anxiety. In this presentation, teachers and caregivers will gain an awareness of the potential traumatic impact of COVID on students, along with tips that teachers can use to help offset student fears and anxiety in the classroom.
Participation is limited to the first 500 people.
About Melissa A. Callen, MA, LPC, ACS
Melissa Callen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor. With over 20 years’ experience in working in the related fields of crisis intervention, trauma, and grief and loss Melissa’s specialty is working with at risk youth and their families. Melissa joined Effective School Solutions (ESS) in 2013. She served as the Traumatic Loss Coalition Coordinator in Somerset County. Melissa is a Nurtured Heart Approach® Certified Trainer and a Certified Youth Mental Health First Aid™ Trainer. As ESS’ Senior Director of Professional Learning, Melissa is developing interactive and impactful workshops for educators. Melissa graduated from LaSalle University with a Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy.
