The Oklahoma Art Guild (OAG) is a non-profit organization founded in 1954, with the objective of creating, promoting and developing all forms of the visual arts.  The membership includes professionals, amateurs, art enthusiasts and patrons of the visual arts.

Join us for refreshments, socializing, and a demo by artist Jim Pourtorkan. There will also be time at the end to share, so bring something you've been working on or information about your upcoming event.

Bio
 
Jim Pourtorkan is a self-taught watercolor artist. He began painting professionally in the 1990s, and has since received recognition for his work through numerous juried art competitions and shows including the National Watercolor Oklahoma Exhibition. Jim's love for his medium has been strongly influenced by the behavior of the watercolor pigment, the accidental nature of watercolor, and the unknown outcome.
 
Jim teaches group watercolor classes and travels throughout the state doing demonstrations and holding workshops.

Urban Sketcher News
                       

 

Urban Sketchers OKC will meet at 3:00pm on March 18 at Martin Nature Park (5000 W Memorial Road) for a spring sketch crawl. We'll have the opportunity to catch the changing of the season and the awakening of new life in our sketch journals. Afterwards we'll head over to Poblano Grill where a room has been reserved so we can share ideas, techniques, books, websites, etc. See the OKC Urban Sketchers group on facebook for more info.
