1-Improvements must be made
After nine years of negotiations with federal and state agencies, in addition to multiple meetings with community members and technical experts, Nampa must now decide how to pay for mandatory improvements to its wastewater treatment plant to meet changing guidelines, or face steep fines of up to $100,000/day if not met by 2026. Design/construction take years to complete.
2-Property taxes not impacted
Sewer rates will increase, not property taxes.
3-“Yes” Vote (in favor of)
If the bond passes, anticipated funding is available through the State Revolving Fund at 1.68% for a 30 year term. A simple majority of 50% plus one vote is required by Nampa voters for the bond to pass.
4-“No” Vote (against)
Voting against the bond results in an increase of approx. 93% on your October sewer bill, followed by 12-35% increases thru 2025, then decreasing approx. 46% in 2026.
Voting “no” does not reject the project, only bond funding.
5-VOTE MAY 15
Nampa votes how to fund improvements. Polls open 8am-8pm.
