Join Us for Worship This Sunday!
Sunday, January 27 at 9 and 11 a.m.

Worship Leaders:
Racial Justice Team and the Campbell Family Study Group of the UU Church of Nashua

Worship Associate: Rodney Lowe

"Centering Black Unitarian Universalism: Honoring the Rev. Jeffrey Campbell and Marguerite Campbell"
Our guests will present a program they have developed and shared with other congregations. It lifts up the history of the Rev. Jeffrey Campbell and his sister Marguerite Campbell, mid-century Universalists of color in Nashua. The struggles and courage of their journey form the focus of the service. Music will include the Adult Choir at 11:00 a.m.

Short Stack: $2/kids, $5/adults
Tall Stack: $4/kids, $8/adults

Theme Circles Registration
Rev. Andre Mol, Developmental Assistant Minister for Pastoral Care and Membership

Registration is presently underway for our next season of Theme Circles! Groups will begin meeting at specific times during the third week of February, March, April, May and June to explore the themes of Trust, Journey, Wholeness, Curiosity, and Beauty.

Theme Circles consist of about eight to ten members who meet with a trained facilitator at specific monthly times to discuss, reflect, and explore the monthly spiritual theme. Participation in a Theme Circle is a wonderful way to make new friends, connect with old friends, and foster meaningful connections in our large congregation. After receiving and studying the monthly edition of The Path , participants choose a question or two to incorporate into their daily lives and then ultimately share that experience (or other thoughts or inspirations) when the group meets. Be aware that when you join a Theme Circle, you should make every effort to attend all meetings, although members will certainly understand your absence when you are out of town.

Sign-ups will extend online at this link through February 2. There will also be opportunities to sign up after services on January 27. Each registrant will be asked to list first, second and third choice of group times. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you will get your first choice. You'll learn your Theme Circle Group assignment in early February.

If you have questions, email me at [email protected].

We look forward to another fabulous season of Theme Circles!

Rev. Andre

Drop-In Parents Chalice Circle -

Groundhog Day Game Night
Erika Reif, Family Ministry Assistant

Come join UU families and friends for our Groundhog Day Game Night!

We will have games out to play and you are welcome to bring a favorite, as well. And because any gathering is more fun with food, we're having a potluck too, so bring a dish to share (skip the plates and utensils - we've got that covered!)

Come for a little bit or the whole time; bring all your ages (and your inner child, too) and play an old favorite or learn a new game (10-handed solitaire, anyone?). We look forward to having you join us!

We'll have childcare available in the nursery for the littlest, with some kids' games available if they choose.

Mark your calendar: Saturday, February 2 from 5-8 p.m. in the Community Room.

Call to UU Artists

We would like to have a group show in the (upstairs) ARC GALLERY. (Gary Kowalski used to call it the People's Gallery.)

Please come on February 3rd or 4th with one piece of your artwork:
ready to hang, with title, price
one-page bio (to slide into a notebook)

The show will be hung Wednesday morning, February 6 and will hang for three months, to the end of April. The gallery can hold 10-15 pieces depending on size. We will do our best to accommodate all. 2D work is preferred given the space. Please contact: [email protected]
or text: 802-355-6189.

Card Workshop
Connie Hitt

Meg Miller has graciously volunteered to lead another card workshop for the Care Network on Sunday, February 10 in the Parlors after the first and second services. All are welcome. We will  make cards for the Care Network to send to those parishioners in need of a greeting. All materials will be provided. Children welcome.

Blessing Bags
Erika Reif, Family Ministry Assistant

On Sunday, February 17 we will gather in the Community Room between the services to fill gallon-sized bags with small toiletries and other items that might bring comfort to those in need.

This multi-generational service project is open to the whole congregation, not just families with children in Family Ministry classes. You can take part by bringing items from the list below to the Meeting House (look for baskets in the Parlors and Community Room), and/or by staying after or coming early on that Sunday to stuff the bags as a group!

From the Care Network Team
HAVE A DESIRE TO HELP OTHERS IN OUR CONGREGATION BUT AREN'T QUITE SURE HOW?
One very easy thing to do is to make a meal for one of the following families. Just cooking a little extra every once in a while can be such a gift to another and a wonderful way to meet someone new.

Details of what each family likes and dislikes are included in the meal train entry. (See link below).

If you are looking for recipe ideas, check out the Care Network section of the Society website. Click "Caring and Belonging," then "Care Network Team" and then scroll down to see some delicious UU-tested recipes!
  • Kathy Bonilla has been fighting a long-term health battle and she and her two granddaughters truly appreciate the help that a few meals a week can be.
  • Miriam (Tammy) Strauss is dealing with long-term health issues caused by being rear-ended by a cattle truck. One meal every week is a major support to her. Hannaford, Rite Aid or gas station gift cards are also welcomed. Meals can be delivered either to her home in Essex Junction or to her place of work in South Burlington. See the meal train for more details.
