CFMS BUILDING NEWSLETTER
January 22, 2019

Dear CFMS Families,

Martin Luther King Junior said, "Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education." We are always striving to do both at CFMS; blending within the curriculum and instructing explicitly at times. It's important to teach students valuable content, task processes, global skills and how to be a good person. This is apparent during our monthly building activities, team initiatives and overall school expectations. Thank you for allowing us to work with your children!

Best,
Principal, Chagrin Falls Middle School

Mrs. Adamoski’s class visited the Innovation Center this week to participate in a Breakout Edu game. They broke out of King Arthur’s dungeon just in time!

KING ARTHUR'S QUEST
An exciting quest for knowledge took place at CFMS! 7th Grade students in Honors English started the King Arthur unit with an Escape Room Lock Box Quest for the Holy Grail, and ended the unit in the Innovation Lab creating objects on the 3D printer that represent the different Arthurian Novels from the Gerald Morris series The Squire's Tale that students read in Book Club Groups. As a culminating activity at the end of the unit, students chose an object to design on the 3D printer that symbolized the main Arthurian connection in their book. These objects became part of their presentation of their book.

Safer Ohio Tip Line
The single greatest deterrent of an act of violence is identification and intervention with at risk students. All students, parents and staff must feel comfortable expressing concern and alerting the appropriate individual(s) when concerns arise. The state of Ohio has an anonymous tip line that can be reached via text or call with any issue of concern, 1-844-SaferOH  (844-723-3764 ). This line is monitored by analysts at the Ohio Homeland Security Threat Assessment and Prevention Unity at all times.
