The Oklahoma Municipal League (OML), along with the Tulsa metro-area mayors and city councilmembers hosted a regional legislative forum last week, focusing on municipal priorities during the upcoming session of the 57th Legislature.

 Committee Assignments Announced
Nearly one hundred Oklahoma mayors, vice-mayors and city councilmembers will converge at the state Capitol on Friday, January 25 for the annual Congress of Mayors event.

Held each January, the purpose of the event is to give our city officials the opportunity to craft an agenda for the upcoming 2019 legislative session.

Areas of focus will include economic development, infrastructure needs and revenue diversification.

This one-day event is sponsored by the Mayors Council of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Municipal League.

Each attendee has been assigned to one of 5 acting committees.  To locate which committee you have been placed, please click below.

Community Leadership Development Class 7 Visited Ardmore
The Community Leadership Development class traveled to Ardmore January 17th and 18th for Session 5,  Servant Leadership .  

Thursday, January 17th the group met for a reception at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, where Ardmore Assistant City Manager, Kevin Boatright greeted the class members.  After the reception CLD 7 class member Dustin Scott, City Administrator, Marietta, and his wife Jessica Scott, Director of Community Services, City of Ardmore and CLD 6 graduate, provided a delicious taco dinner at their home. The Scott’s home is a historical 100 year old three story home.  The class enjoyed dinner, conversation, and a tour of the beautiful home. Read article online...

Marijuana Business Entity Information
We have had multiple municipalities reach out to determine a way to locate marijuana businesses operating under state licenses in their communities in order to verify their compliance with applicable ordinances. While we are working for a more effective long-term solution this upcoming legislative session, there is also a way to obtain this information in the interim.
 
Marijuana Businesses are supposed to be registered with the State Department of Health  AND the OK Bureau of Narcotics. To obtain information from the Dept. of Health you may submit a request for information. Another option is utilizing the OBN Database . Use the municipality and registration type to narrow your search. 
 
Under the “Select Registration Type” dropdown commercial licensees are included under the “Business Distributor” (Dispensary) and “Business Manufacturer” (Grower and Processor) category.
