Open 4 Business Competition
With Main Street Iowa and the Iowa Economic Development Authority, DPI presents the Open 4 Business competition for a for-profit business located in downtown Burlington. Three chosen local applicants will pitch their business concepts to DPI, with the winner competing to be a semifinalist in June for a chance at $8000. Five finalists will present their ideas in a statewide contest in August for an additional $20,000 in funding.

Farmers Market Vendors Sought
Although it's still winter, Downtown Partners is already looking forward for the 2018 season of the Jefferson Street Farmers Market. The market will take place in the 200-500 blocks of Jefferson on Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:30 PM beginning May 3.
The Jefferson St. Farmers Market steering committee is offering a discount to returning seasonal vendors who sign up in advance, as well as for new seasonal vendors - only $105 a space for the entire 22-week season.
